Suranee Ockletree- July 2008 Swimmer of the Month

During the month of July Suranee pushed the limits in the practice pool. She attended every practice, made every interval, never stopped, never complained, and never lost sight of her goals. Many of those goals were achieved at Fullerton in the beginning of July, where she was dropping an average of 10 seconds to attain all of her JO cuts She then finished the montha t JOs and dropping more time, and making her first finals as a 13/14 year old, a goal she set out to reach over a year ago.

Henrik Ohrstrom- July 2008 Swimmer of the Month

During the month of July Henrik had to push from Age Group swimmer to Senior level swimmer. Henrik aged up the day before JOs. Instead of swimming with the 13/14 year olds, he had to swim with the 15 and overs. The time standards are harder, and the swimming is faster. Henrik made a big commitment to make the most of every practice, knowing that come the end of July, his goals of making it on to the Zone team were going to come due. The only way this was going to be achieved was by Henrik finaling at JOs and swimming faster than he has ever swam. On average Henrik was dropping 15 seconds in every race at JOs, he finaled in 4 out of his 6 races, earned 4 Zone times and 2 sectional times.
